Águida Hammock
A rede de descanso Águida é resultado de uma fusão de design com o mobiliário indígena sendo feita de forma artesanal com materiais sustentáveis resgatando um utensílio doméstico de grande valor histórico-cultural que está fortemente inserido no DNA Brasileiro. As redes de descanso ainda são muito utilizadas para dormir em substituição da cama, principalmente nas regiões norte e nordeste, e a proposta da rede Águida é misturar design e cultura em um produto de estilo universal podendo ser inserido em diversos tipos de espaços desde uma casinha de campo a um apartamento na cidade, é a ideia de um mobiliário artesanal e diferenciado que não se limita apenas a um tipo de ambiente. Trazendo mais vida e aconchego deixando aquele espaço especial ainda melhor, com seus bolsos laterais onde se pode guardar aquele livro ou revista preferida estando sempre à sua disposição no seu momento de descanso.
Spanish colonizers were the first to notice the regular use of hammocks amongst the Central American cultures. Columbus, in his journal of his first travel, even said that a large group of Indians went to meet him to offer the hammocks in which they slept. Initially made out if wood from the trees and then with fabric and sisal fibber, hammocks were always a part of Latin America’s routine.
If not for any other reason, hammocks provided Indians living in direct contact with Nature a protection against animals and specially insects. After all, despite what it may appear to us, used to see hammocks as leisure, the people from the New World was looking for protection when they suspended their beds above the ground.
Because of it all, there is something very familiar and ancestral in the shape of a hammock. How not to get attracted to a light object capable of protecting us by suspend us on ait? It is still the object of desire of many young designers around the world. “The hammock is a product that has a connection with those who see it, awakening an emotional sensation and the desire to live a relaxing experience, especially in the turbulent days we live,” says designer Lucas Lima.
On board of his delicate and handmade creation, the Aguida hammock, everything can feel lighter. A design made with sustainable materials and is attached to the Brazilian Indian heritage through its construction but at the same time feels very contemporary, especially because of the side pockets, sewn to offer the option to hold everything necessary for the contemporary living. “The idea is to mix design and culture in one unique product for universal use,” summarizes him.

Evento que acontece paralelamente - e nas dependências - do Salone del Mobile Milano no período de 4 a 9 de abril de 2017.
